We managed to have our slumber parties last week-before the winter weather returned.  The Bears played musical sleeping bags and stuffed animal toss.  But no one did any sleeping!

SHOW AND TELL is this Thursday and Friday.

February tuition is due.

January book orders arrived this weekend and were placed in lockers this week.

This month we need copier paper, construction paper and paper cups for our paper needs.  For our snack items we need juice and any snack items.  They love carrot sticks, cheese, crackers, cereal, fruits, etc.  Please remember NO PEANUT BUTTER!

This week our theme is GROUND HOGS.  Our Special Event is PANCAKES.  Everyone will help mix the batter, pour it on my grill, and flip those pancakes in the air.  WE will have pancakes, butter and syrup on Tuesday and Wednesday.

MONDAY the class will begin by finding the animals that are hiding.  The number is “4” and the story is our four seasons.  Everyone will cut leaves, count the correct number and glue them to each tree.  Our letter is “U”.  I have a big bag of stuffed alphabet letters.  I hold up a letter and everyone shouts the name of the letter.  We are also playing a letter game called what letter starts this word.  They love it!  Everyone will make a ground hog to bring home.

TUESDAY the Bears will begin by finding the animals that are hiding.  The number is “5” and the story is Henny Penny.  We will make a Henny Penny picture.  Everyone will make a ground hog to bring home.  We will make pancakes.

WEDNESDAY the students will begin by finishing a funny picnic picture.  The letter is “V”.  Our Science topic is Seeds on the Go.  Our sight words will be PLAY and WITH.  Everyone will cut balls for the clown to jungle.  We will make pancakes.

THURSDAY the children will begin by finishing a funny picnic paper.  Our spatial concept is BOTTOM.  Which animal is on the bottom?  Everyone will make a special day picture and a family picture.  We will make a ground hog to share.  Everyone will share there weekly readers and behavior book.

FRIDAY the Bears will begin by finishing the sunny day paper.  The letter is “W”.  Everyone will cut ice cream to glue on their cones.  Everyone will make a family picture and a special day picture.  We will make a ground hog; share our newspapers and behavior book.

VALENTINE parties will be held Tues, Feb 9^th and Wed, Feb 10^th.

VALENTINE class lists were in everyone’s locker last week.  Valentines may be brought in at anytime.  We have bags for each child.

Valentine snack lists are posted on the front table.

Feb 15-19 there is NO SCHOOL due to winter break at South Jeff.

Feb 22 our theme is PRESIDENTS and we will hold a birthday party for the presidents as our special event.

March special events are: picnic in the snow, making ice cream, leprechaun traps, beach party, and our Easter parties
