The staff at Teddy Bear Corner would like to say a huge THANK YOU to all for the lovely gifts we received.  The children did such a wonderful job at the Christmas programs and Santa was just SUPER.  He asked if anyone had doubles of pictures of him with the children, he would love them.  He has a big album that TBC gave him several years ago and it is almost full!  If you have any pics, you can give them to me and I’ll get them to him.  THANKS!

The snacks were delicious!  Thanks for all the time that you all give to TBC!  We all appreciate you so much!!

Winter is definitely here to stay.

 Remember if South Jeff is closed, TBC is closed.  If South Jeff is delayed 2 hours, TBC is closed.

If you ever wonder what is going on, just call me.

We will begin our SPECIAL EVENTS this month.  Each TUESDAY and WEDNESDAY we will have a special activity for the Bears.

Next week January 8th and 9th we will make Stone Soup.  Each student may bring in something to share in our soup.  I will have a stone and meat to make meatballs, and we can use an onion, carrots, potatoes, celery stick, peas, corn, string beans, beef broth, and

crackers.  Please just send one item with your child and the Bears will chop and stir until we have Stone Soup!

It always turns out delicious!!

We will also read and act out the story of Stone Soup.

JANUARY TUITION is due now.

January book orders are due by Friday, January 11, 2008.

This week our theme is WINTER. 

WEDNESDAY the children will begin by finding the letters that Go Together.  We will begin our Number Unit with the number “1” to trace, write and count in M&M’s.  Each number has a story to help us count.  The number “1” story is the Little Red Hen.  We will read the story, act it out, and use the characters to count.  Our cutting paper will be cutting grains of wheat and counting them as they are glued onto loaves of bread. We will also start a new alphabet unit with the letter “A”.  Everyone will make a winter number “1”.

THURSDAY the class will begin by finding the Biggest and the Smallest.  They will trace, write and count the number “1”.  We will continue our spatial concepts with “IN”. Our craft is Five Snowflakes.  SHOW AND TELL is Thursday. 

FRIDAY the students will begin by finding letters that Go Together.  The Rhyming unit begins with the word “CAT”.  Our letter is “B”.  Everyone will cut the Three Little Pigs.  We will make Five Snowflakes and share our newspapers and behavior book.  We will have our monthly SHOW AND TELL.

 

Upcoming Special Events:

January 8 and 9- Stone Soup

Need to bring in veggies

January 15 and 16-Animal Parade-bring in their favorite stuffed animal for a parade.

January 22 and 23rd-Slumber Party-come in pajamas and bring a sleeping bag or a blanket

January 29 and 30 we will make Pancakes!

For January’s snack and paper item, we need construction paper and copier paper, 5 oz. paper cups, cereals, crackers, veggies, etc.
