We hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season.  The staff would also like to say THANKS for all the snacks and gifts from everyone.  Thanks for thinking of us when you are so busy.

January begins our Special Events each Tuesday and Wednesday.  JANUARY 10th and 11th we will have our ANIMAL PARADES.  Children may bring a stuffed animal from home to parade at school.  We will discuss different animals-what they eat, where do they live, how do they defend themselves, etc.

JANUARY 17th and 18th we will make PANCAKES.  Each child will help mix the batter and flip the pancakes.  We will eat pancakes for our snack.

JANUARY 24th and 25th will be our annual SLUMBER PARTIES.  Everyone will come to TBC in their pajamas and bring a blanket or a sleeping bag.  We will play musical sleeping bags and stuffed animal toss.  Everyone will learn about night time, sleeping, nocturnal animals, and why we all need to sleep.  In the past, these days have always had the worst weather!

JANUARY 31st and FEBRUARY 1st will be our GINGERBREAD MAN.  Everyone will help mix our gingerbread batter and pour the batter into our special gingerbread bear pan.  We will send it to Ms. Tina’s house to bake and her cat Sassy and her dog Buddy will watch it for us.

TUESDAY the Bears will begin by finding the SAME items.  We will begin our NUMBER UNIT with the number “1”.  Each number has a story to help us with our counting.  The first story is The Little Red Hen.  Everyone will trace their number.  We will continue with our seasons by learning about SUMMER.  Everyone will make a paper winter Quilt.

WEDNESDAY the class will begin by following the letter “W”.  We will also begin with the “1” to trace and count.  Our cutting paper will follow the story of the Little Red Hen. 

Everyone will cut one grain of wheat to glue on one loaf of bread.  Our Science Unit will be using our Magnifying glasses to see what we can find.  Our letter is “P”.  Our Sight Words are “I” and “SEE”.  Everyone will make a paper winter quilt.

THURSDAY the children will begin by finding the SAME items.  The number “1” will be traced and printed.  Everyone will find the summer items.  We will make a snowman to bring home.

FRIDAY the students will begin by matching their letters.  We will trace and print the number “1”.  Our letter is “Q”.  Everyone will cut and glue a snowman puzzle.  We will make a snowman to bring home.

Items we need this month are juice, cereal, snack items, wipes and paper towels.
