Well the winter weather has certainly messed with the Bears’ calendar of Special Events.  The Wed class has now missed the Slumber Party and Making Pancakes.  I will combine both events this spring. 

February tuition is now due.  I will hand out notes for past due tuitions this week.

Jan. book orders are here and will be handed to adults this week.   Feb book flyers will be handed out this week.  They need to be returned by Feb 15^th.  Thanks!

Valentine class lists have been placed in each locker.  I have extras if needed.

Mon-Wed-Fri class please adds KYLA STANDFORD to your list.  Thanks.

Tues-Thurs class remember to change Olivia to Annika VanWormer.  Thanks!

SHOW AND TELL IS Thurs and Fri this week.

Valentine party sign ups are posted on the front table and are full!!  Thanks so much for all your support.

The snack items needed this month are crackers, cereals, juice, snack items.

Paper products needed are paper towels, copier paper and construction paper.  Thanks again for all your support.  It helps me keep the tuition prices down.  Please call me at home if you need my tax ID number for your taxes.  In most cases the tuition you pay can be deducted as child care—with my ID number.

This week our Special Event is a Beach Party.  Children may come to school in their summer clothes and bring a towel.  We will visit our pretend beach and play in our pretend sand and swim in our pretend ocean.  Our snack will be a picnic lunch with sandwiches, chips, pickles, carrot sticks, and juice.  We will discuss sun safety and water safety.

MONDAY the class will begin by finding the different words.  Our letter is “E”.  We will review the “V” sound.  Everyone will find the letters.  Our number is “5” with our Henny Penny story.

TUESDAY the children will begin by finding the items that does NOT belong.  Their number is “6” to find, trace and count M&M’s.  Our “6” story is the Six foolish fishermen.

WEDNESDAY the students will begin with a reading readiness paper to solve.  They will cut and glue on a 1-2-3 paper.  Our letter is “J”.  Everyone will have a math paper to solve.  Our Science topic is our Fingernails-again!  WE will begin putting letters and sounds together with –AT.

THURSDAY the children will begin with a what does NOT belong paper.  The shape review is RECTANGLES.  Our concept topic is BOTTOM.  We will share our newspapers and our behavior book. We will have SHOW AND TELL>

FRIDAY the students will begin with a reading readiness paper.  The letter is “K” and the sound is “K”.  We will have a math paper and everyone will cut on the lines.  We will share our newspapers and our behavior book.  Everyone will have a SHOW AND TELL time.

Each day this week we will be making Valentine crafts to share at home.

Our Valentine parties are Wed the 13^th and Thurs the 14^th.  Valentines may be brought in early-this would help the teachers with all the sorting, if possible.

Feb 18-22 there is NO SCHOOL due to South Jeff winter break.

Feb 25 our theme is Our Presidents and our Special Event is a Birthday party for the presidents.

March 3 the theme is Gingerbread boy and we will make a Gingerbread Boy-he always runs away, but we try to catch him for our snack.

March 9 the theme is St Patrick’s Day and our Special Event is making a Leprechaun trap.

March 17 theme is Easter and we will have Easter parties that week.

March 24^th theme is Picnics and we will have a picnic in the snow.

March 31 theme is cows, milk, etc. and we will make ice cream sundaes that week.
