HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL OUR BEAR FAMILIES AND FRIENDS!!

Our SPECIAL EVENTS will begin this Tuesday and Wednesday.  Each week during the winter months we will have a special activity.  This week our Event is HAT DAY.  Each Bear may wear a special hat to school.  We will have a Hat Parade and everyone will receive a special certificate.

JANUARY TUITION IS DUE THIS WEEK.

This week our theme is WINTER.

MONDAY the Bears will begin by matching the socks.  The letter is “J”.  We will begin our NUMBERS UNIT with the number “1”.  Each number has a story for everyone to listen to, act out, and count.  The story for this week is The Little Red Hen.  The cutting paper will be cutting one grain of wheat and gluing it on a loaf of bread.  Everyone will make MITTENS.

TUESDAY the children will begin by matching socks.  The number to count and trace is “1”.  We will make mittens.  Everyone will parade with their hats.

WEDNESDAY the students will begin by solving a winter maze.  The letter is “K”.  Everyone will find one animal.  Our Science topic is Clean is Healthy.  Everyone will cut and glue a snowman.  Our Sight words are “RIDE” and “ON”.  We will have a Hat Parade.

THURSDAY the class will begin by finding the matching mittens.  Everyone will find the SAME items in each row.  We will trace circles.  We will make a picture of our self; everyone will make a snowflake, share their newspapers and behavior books.

FRIDAY the Bears will begin by matching the mittens.  They will cut a snail.  The letter is “L”.  Everyone will make a snowflake, share their newspapers and behavior books.

UPCOMING SCHEDULE IS:

January 11 theme is GOOD FOOD and our Special Event is the Gingerbread Man.  The students will help stir a gingerbread batter.  We will pour it into my special pan and take it to Tina’s house to bake in her oven.  When it is done baking, Tina will bring it over to school for our snack.  Sometimes the Gingerbread boy runs away and we have to hunt for him.  You never know what he might do.

January 18 there is NO SCHOOL due to Martin Luther King holiday.  Our theme for the rest of that week is Stone Soup.  We will read the story of Stone Soup, the children will act out the story, and we will make Stone Soup for our snack.  I will provide the pot, the stone and meatballs.  The Bears may bring in a carrot, a potato, an onion, crackers, beef broth, canned veggies-carrots, corn, string beans, peas, etc., noodles, any thing you have extra that will help our soup taste great!

January 25 the theme is bedtime and our Special Event is a Slumber Party.  The children may come in their pajamas and bring a blanket or a sleeping bag.

For more themes, check our web site calendars.

Each month we ask the families to bring in a snack item and a paper product.  Our needs this month are paper cups-5 oz if possible, napkins, paper towels, tissues, juices, snack items, carrots, cheeses, cereals, crackers, etc.  Please NO PEANUT BUTTER!

Thanks again for all your support.  Cindy Reardon 232-2230
