Welcome to Teddy Bear Corner.  This is the first Newsletter for the Fall session.  You will receive a newsletter each week to inform the family about TBC’s activities.

Some children will tell their parents every thing about their day at school.  Some will not tell their parents anything.  Maybe by using the newsletter you will be able to ask questions about their day to help you receive some answers.

The only item a student needs to bring to school is a back pack or bag to carry home all their treasures.

Tuitions are due at the beginning of each month.  Receipts are given at the time of payment. I have a tax ID number that you may be able to use to deduct tuition as a child care expense.

We will spend the week learning names, making friends, following the bathroom rules, singing new songs, exercising new moves, and learning all about TBC.

WEDNESDAY the students will begin with a Following the Lines paper to help their writing skills.  We will also begin our ALPHABET UNIT with the letter “A”.  The children will trace and write the letter on a special paper.  We will also begin our CUTTING UNIT.  The Bears will begin by tearing strips of paper into smaller pieces and then will glue the pieces onto a picture.  This day the picture is a fish. 

THURSDAY the children will begin by coloring a boy bear or a girl bear.  They will draw a picture

of “ME” and tell us a bit about their family.  We will also read our first Behavior book and share our Let’s Find Out newspapers.

FRIDAY the class will begin by following the lines.  The letter will be “B”.  Everyone will tear strips and glue them onto a tree picture.  We will share our Behavior Book and our Let’s Find Out newspaper.

September 10^th our theme will be BEAR FRIENDS and our color will be BROWN.  If your child has something brown, we would love to have them wear it to school on Monday or Tuesday-our color days.  Please do not buy anything new to wear on color day.  We will be painting each Monday and Tuesday.

September 17 our theme will be MOTHER GOOSE and the color will be BLUE.

September 24 the theme will be FALL and the color is GREEN.

October 1^st the theme is Community Workers and our color is YELLOW.  Any parent or grandparent who would like to visit us this week and discuss your occupation with the class, we would love it.  Please feel free to bring a book or anything else that would help you.  Please call me or let me know at TBC.  Thanks so much.

Our teaching staff this year will be:  Michelle Moyer, Diana Reardon, and Tracy Maguire.  If any parent is interested in working at TBC, please let me know.  I have a special form that needs to be kept on file I would then add you to our

Sub List to call when we need extra help.

Please bring in your child’s Registration information as quickly as possible.  We need to list allergies for snacks and to fill in our dismissal information booklet.

Please remember to check your child’s locker each day.  When your child arrives, there should be a bear name tag hanging on their locker.  Please place the bear on your child’s clothing to help the teachers learn everyone’s name.  At the end of class there is usually a collection of papers in each locker to go home.

Each month we ask each student to bring in a paper product and a snack item.  I try to give you a list of ideas each month of the items that we need.  For snack items we need juices, any fresh fruit or veggies, crackers, cereals, etc.  For paper items we need construction paper, copier paper, paper towels, and 5 oz. paper cups.  Thank you in advance for your help with supplies.  It helps us maintain our tuition rates.
