WOW! The pancakes were delicious. The Bears ate and ate and ate. A nice treat on a cold winter’s day. This week is our annual Valentine’s party. Class lists were sent home a couple of weeks ago. Sign up lists for snacks are posted on the front table. THANKS so much for your generosity!! The Bears love parties. We have bags made for each student to hold their treasures. February tuition is due now. February book orders are due by Friday the 12th. There is NO SCHOOL the week of Feb 15-19 due to Winter Break at South Jeff. Classes resume on the 22nd with the Presidents theme. MONDAY the class will find the same direction items in each row. The number is “5” and the story is Henny Penny. Everyone will cut acorns, count them, and glue the right number to each tree. Our letter is “X”. We will make Valentine cards for our parents. TUESDAY the Bears will begin by finding the matching PAIRS. The number is “6” and the story is Six Foolish Fishermen. WE will make Valentine Cards and have our party. WEDNESDAY the students will begin by finding the items that are in the SAME direction. Everyone will cut Valentine shapes. The letter is “Y”. We will have a party maze to complete. We will have our party. |
THURSDAY the children will begin by finding the PAIRS. Our spatial concept is “IN”. Everyone will finish the picture of being together with the family. We will make a heart mouse; share our newspapers and our behavior book. FRIDAY the class will begin by finding the SAME items. The letter is “Z”. We will cut a Valentine door knob decoration. Everyone will make a heart mouse; share our newspapers and our behavior book. Upcoming themes and special events: Feb 22 theme is Presidents and we will have a birthday party for the Presidents-George Washington, Abraham Lincoln and Barrack Obama... March 1 theme is spring and we will have a picnic in the snow-inside with cotton balls March 8 theme is Leprechauns and we will make Ice Cream Sundaes. And traps for the Leprechaun. March 15 theme is Leprechauns. We try to catch Louie the Leprechaun each year. Everyone works hard on our traps and this week we find out if they worked or not. March 22 theme is Easter and we will have our Beach party-complete with shorts and beach towels. March 29 theme is Easter and we will have out Easter Parties this week.
