The weather has become cooler and all the leaves are turning color and falling from the trees.  Fall is definitely here.

This week our theme is Columbus and we will learn who he was and what he did to make him famous.  We will also learn about his ships-Nina, Pinta, and Santa Maria.

September book orders are arriving.  As they arrive, I package them for the parents.  October book flyers will be handed out this week.  Orders are due back by Fri, Oct 19^th.

Our snack and paper needs this month are juice and paper towels.  Thanks so much.

Halloween parties and parades will be held on Tues., Oct. 30^th and Wed., Oct 31 at 10 am.  A list for special Halloween snacks for our party is on the front table.  We also need some TREATERS-to pass out treats to the children as they parade downtown and back.

There was no school on Mon, Tues, and Wed this week due to a long Columbus holiday.

THURSDAY the children will begin by coloring a picture about taking turns.  Each morning we are discussing manners.  We will have a shape review paper for our circles, rectangles, triangles, and squares.  Everyone will

make Christopher Columbus and his three ships.  They will color them and help tape them to craft sticks.  We will share our behavior book and our newspapers.

FRIDAY the class will begin by following the zigzag lines-this will help develop their printing skills.  The letter is “O”.  Everyone will SNIP strips of paper and glue the pieces onto a dinosaur paper. We will have a shape review paper.  Everyone will make a Christopher Columbus and his three ships.  We will share our behavior book and our newspapers.

There is a FIELD TRIP for the Monday, Wednesday, Friday class.  You will receive a special notice in your lockers this week.

TBC is holding a fund raiser beginning on Monday, October 15.  Information will be placed in each student’s locker.

Pictures of students, siblings, and each class will be offered this month.  An information sheet will be in your lockers next week.  We are trying new photographer this year to try to reduce the prices.

October 22 the theme is HALLOWEEN and the color is orange.

October 29 the theme is HALLOWEEN and the color is black.
