The teachers are learning everyone’s names and what adult goes with which child.  Please bear with us while we learn to sort everyone out.

In each child’s locker this week will be the monthly Book Order flyers.  The book orders are due back to me by Wed., Sept 19^th.  There is a note with the flyers to explain how to order.  Please remember there is NO OBLIGATION to order.  TBC receives points for each dollar spent.  I use the points to add books, movies, posters, craft items, etc., to TBC.

This week our theme is BEAR FRIENDS.  The color in Monday and Tuesday is BROWN.  We will make CHOCOLATE PUDDING for our BROWN snack.

MONDAY the children will begin with a Bear maze to solve.  The letter is “C”.  Everyone will tear a strip of paper and glue it onto a Bear picture.  We will color and paint with BROWN.    Everyone will make a Bear puzzle for the craft.

TUESDAY the class will begin by coloring a food manner paper.  They will color and paint with BROWN.  Everyone will help mix chocolate pudding for our brown snack.  We will make bear puzzles for our craft.

WEDNESDAY the students will begin by following the lines from the bears to the honey pots.  The letter is “D”.  Everyone will glue paper to a sheep paper.  Our Science project is bear hibernation.

THURSDAY the class will begin with a manners paper about opening doors.  The shape to trace, write, and find is a SQUARE.  Everyone will make a bear by sewing with yarn.  We will share our newspapers and behavior books.

FRIDAY the children will begin by following the lines.  The letter is “E”.  The torn paper will be glued onto a pumpkin picture.  Everyone will sew a bear.  We will share our newspapers and behavior books.

September 17 theme is Mother Goose and the color is Blue

September 24 theme is Fall and the color is green.

October 1^st is Community workers and the color is yellow.

Teddy Bear Corner has a Web site…www.teddybearcorner.net.  Eventually we would like to have a pass protected site connected to our web site with pictures of the classes.

Teddy Bear Corner had a float in the Labor Day parade in Adams and we won FIRST prize for a Commercial float-we might have been the only float in the commercial category?!?

Show and Tell is held on the first Thursday and Friday of each month.  The next scheduled Show and Tell is October 4^th and 5^th.  Children may bring in something special to SHOW the other students and TELL about the item.  All items should have their names on it and we will keep them in the lockers until time to be shown.

Please place your child’s name tag on them every am.  Remember to take all the papers in your child’s locker home each day. 

Registration forms need to be returned this week so we can make our dismissal records and allergy notes.

Thank you to everyone who has brought in supplies.  We really appreciate all your support.  We need juice and copy and construction paper.

Secrets every parent should know…..a child’s brain develops most rapidly from birth to age 4!  50% of a child’s intelligence is acquired by age 4, 80% by age 8! by age 5 your child’s personality, self concept, emotional development and character are almost complete.  Each child is an individual and should not be compared to others.  A wise parent will help a child do more and more by himself.
