They worked very hard to make their butter this week.  They shook bottles of heavy cream until it turned into butter.  We dumped the milky water off and added a shake of salt, spread it on bread and enjoyed.

I forgot to add on the picture forms that a Class picture is $10.00.  If you wish to order one, just add it to the bottom of the form.  Thanks.  Pictures will be taken on Monday, October 17th and Tuesday, October 18th.  If you need another form, just ask the teachers.  I made extras.

October book orders are due back by Friday, October 14.  The September orders are due any time and will be placed in your child’s locker.

Our Halloween parades and parties will be held on Tuesday, October 25th and Wednesday, October 26th at 10 am.  The students should arrive at their regular class time-in their costumes.  At 10 am we will leave our classrooms-weather permitting-and walk down Spring Street towards Main Street.  We will cross the street-when the students get tired and return to TBC on the other side of Spring

Street.  Parents who would like to be TREATERS may hand out treats to the children as they parade.  Refreshments will be served when we return to the school.  Parents and siblings are invited to dress up and parade with us, and of, course, return for refreshments.  DON’T FORGET YOUR CAMERAS!! If it rains we will parade inside.

This week our theme is COLUMBUS.  We will discuss his trip across the Atlantic Ocean, Queen Isabella, his three ships, and how the sailors lived on their ships.

MONDAY there is no school due to Columbus Holiday.

TUESDAY the Bears will begin by finding What’s Missing on their papers.  Everyone will color Tigger ORANGE.  We will make a TELESCOPE to find land.  We will color and make the King, Queen, and Columbus stick puppets.

WEDNESDAY the children will begin by following the FOOT STEPS.  They will cut and glue onto a dinosaur picture.  The letter is “O”.  We will make Telescopes, Columbus, The King and the Queen.

THURSDAY the children will begin with SHADOWS to solve.  They will find the STAR shapes.  We will make a Columbus Ship; share our weekly readers and our Behavior book.

FRIDAY the students will begin with a Silly Mistakes paper to solve.  The letter is “P” and we will cut and glue onto a pig paper.  Everyone will make a star shape paper, make a Columbus ship, and share their weekly readers and behavior book.

We have decorated our bulletin board by the front door with pictures of FALL trees.  There are also papers about what everyone wants to be when they grow up. 

Next week our theme is FIRE SAFETY.  We hope to have the fire department visit us to help everyone learn about fire safety.

October 24 and 31 we will have Halloween for our themes.
