We had a wonderful assortment of hats last week for Hat Day. The Bears had a Hat Parade around our rooms. They love marching! This week our Special Events continue with the Gingerbread Man on Tues and Wed. The Bears will all help mix our gingerbread batter. They will pour the mix into our special Bear gingerbread pan. He will bake in Tina’s oven across the street. When he is done, she will bring him over for us to share for our snack time. Last year when she checked the oven, the gingerbread man was gone! We finally found him hiding at TBC, but this year Tina is having her cat Sassy sit in front of the oven and watch it very carefully. Hopefully he won’t run away this time! Our theme this week is the Gingerbread Man. We will read the story and everyone will have parts as we act out the story. January tuition is due now. January book order flyers will be handed out this week. The orders are due back by Fri the 15th. If you place an order on line, would you please let me know what you order-you can even forward the message they send you after you order. November’s order had some mistakes in it. They did not notify me regarding a couple of orders and we had to order them again. THANKS! |
MONDAY the class will begin by finding the DIFFERENT letters in each row. The number is “2” this week and our story is Jack and Jill. Everyone will trace and count 2 candies. They will cut buckets and glue the correct number to each well. Our letter is “M”. Everyone will make gingerbread man. TUESDAY the children will begin by tracing the lines. The number to count and trace is “2”. Everyone will make a gingerbread man. Everyone will find the items that BELONG. WEDNESDAY the Bears will begin by finding the different letters. The letter is “N”. Our Science topic is our body parts-lungs, brain and stomach. Our new sight words are “PLAY” and “WITH”. THURSDAY the students will begin by tracing the lines. UPCOMING Themes are Stone Soup on the 19th and 20th. Bears may bring in a carrot, an onion, a potato, broth, crackers, canned veggies-corn, peas, string beans, carrots. I will have a big pot, water, a stone, and meat balls. The children will chop up all the veggies that we have and add them to our soup.
