March 11-15, 2013

All the Bears loved our picnic in the snow-especially the snowball fight at the end!!  Everyone got to take home all the “snowballs” they could find!  What a fun time!

This week we are getting ready for Louie the Leprechaun’s visit.  Each year we build traps and try to catch him.  We have never been lucky enough to catch him yet, but we keep trying and trying.  Parents are invited in to visit and help build our traps on Tuesday the 12th and Wednesday the 13th at 11am.  We will need boxes-any size, crepe paper, tape, string, yarn, toilet paper tubes, etc., anything that will help our Bears’ imagination!

February book order flyers will be placed in lockers this week.  Any orders are due by the 22nd.

March tuition is due.

UPCOMING EVENTS:

March 18th our theme is VACATIONS and we will take a TRAIN RIDE and visit some of our friends.

MARCH 25th our theme is EASTER and we will have our Easter parties on Tuesday and Wednesday that week.  Sign up lists for snacks are posted on the front table.

There is NO SCHOOL on Friday, March 29th for Good Friday.

April 1-5 there is NO SCHOOL because of SPRING BREAK at the area schools.

Classes resume on Monday, April 8th.

MONDAY the students will begin with a dot-to-dot 1-8 paper to solve.  Their number is “9” and the story is Nine Little Kittens.  They love acting out all these stories.  We will cut, count and glue kittens in their baskets.  Our letter is “F, f”.  We will work on our Leprechaun crafts.

TUESDAY the Bears will begin by finding the matching pairs.  The number is “8” and the story is The Elves and the Shoemaker.  The letter is “O” to trace and write.  We will make Leprechaun crafts and traps.

WEDNESDAY the children will begin with a dot-to-dot 1-8 paper to solve.  We will measure Leprechaun items.  Our letter is “G, g”.  We will cut leprechauns, find the letters for our animals, and try our ice cube Science craft.  Everyone will make Leprechaun traps and crafts.

THURSDAY the class will begin by matching the pairs.  The letter is “P”.  We will learn about the concept of “OFF”.  Everyone will make a Leprechaun craft, share their newspapers and listen to a behavior book.

FRIDAY we will begin with a dot-to-dot 1-8 paper to solve.   Our rhyming word is “CLOCK”.  Our letter is “H, h”.  We will share our newspapers and behavior book and complete some Leprechaun crafts.
