They LOVED the fire trucks from the Adams Fire Department.  The Monday class was so excited about the fireman’s clothes, the fire engine and their hats and bags of goodies.  The Tuesday class was a bit shyer about it all.  Only 2-3 cried, the rest had lots of interesting facts to share with me.  If they can just remember that the fireman is their friend and in case of a fire, he will help them---don’t hide from him.

The items that we need for the month of October are juice, crackers, cereal, snack items, carrot sticks, cheese, apples, etc.  We also need construction paper and copier paper.  We are using lots of hand sanitizer on everyone’s hands and spray and Clorox wipes on all the tables and toys.  Each day I spray Lysol on every surface.  We are trying to keep everyone well!

The Journal has a “Teddy Bear Corner News” column each week.  It is reprinted on our web site.

October tuition is due now.   Notes will be sent home this week.

September books arrived last week and were placed in lockers.

October book orders are due back to school by Oct 16^th-this Friday.  These orders can be placed on line.  For each on-line order TBC receives one free book.  We love FREE things.  The site for the book orders is:

CLASS AND INDIVIDUAL PICTURES will be taken Mon, Oct 19^th and Tues. Oct 20^th during class time.  Forms were sent out last week.  If you need another form, let me know.   

HALLOWEEN PARTIES will be held on Tuesday, Oct 27^th and Wednesday, Oct 28^th at 10am.  Children should arrive at their regular class time.  They may come in costume.  AT 10 am we will parade (weather permitting) down Spring Street.  There is a sign up list for snacks and TREATERS.  A Treater is an adult who TREATS the children as they parade.  The children will have special bags to carry for the parade.  After the parade everyone is invited back to TBC for snacks and refreshments.  Parents are encouraged to dress up also.

The theme this week is CHRISTOPHER COLUMBUS.

WEDNESDAY the children will begin by finding the OPPOSITE items in each row.  They will SNIP strips of paper and glue them onto a Dinosaur picture.  The letter is “O”.  Our Science unit is learning about our SKELETON.  I have some models for them to look over.  We will make a decoration for our bulletin board and a telescope to look for land like Columbus had.

THURSDAY the class will begin by tracing two lines.  The shape is CIRCLE to find and trace.  Everyone will make a decoration for our bulletin board, a Columbus ship; share their newspapers, and their behavior book.

FRIDAY the students will begin by finding the OPPOSITES.  The letter is “P” and the shape is circle.  The SNIPPED pieces will be glued onto a turtle paper.

THANK YOU for all the special treats you have sent in.  The children get so excited at SNACK time.  The Themes for Oct 19 and Oct 26 are Halloween.  The items from the bulletin board will all be returned to each child in their yearbook at the end of school.
