Everyone survived the first week!  We had a few tears but that happens each year.  If a child cries hard and we can not console them, we will call their parents.  The name tags are a big help to the teachers.

Parents have been very understanding about our learning the faces of adults that go with the faces of Bears.  Thank you for your help.

When sending in snacks or snack items this year-cup cakes, cookies, etc. for birthdays or special events, please remember that we have a couple of children that are very ALLERGIC TO PEANUTS.  Peanuts are in so many foods, we really have to read the labels at TBC.  If you send something in and aren’t sure regarding the peanut content, let us know.  We have alternative snacks available.

Book order flyers will be handed out this week with an explanation letter attached.  We use several book order flyers.  They can be used on line, too.  There is no obligation to participate in the book orders.  If you do wish to order a book, the information sheet will explain how to do that.  The books are always placed in a plastic bag and given to the adult who brings in the child.  If you wish the books to remain a secret for a gift, let me know. 

This week our theme is MOTHER GOOSE.  Our color is GREEN and we will make Green Eggs and Ham.  The students will help crack the eggs, mix the eggs, cut up the ham, and say the magic words to make the mixture turn green.

MONDAY the Bears will begin by solving a maze.  The alphabet letter is “C”.  We will tear strips of colored paper and glue them onto a tree picture.  Everyone will make a Humpty Dumpty craft and a Hey Diddle Diddle craft.  We will color and paint with GREEN.

TUESDAY the children will begin by tracing the lines.  This will help them learn to hold their crayons and follow lines.  They will color and paint with green.  We will make a Humpty Dumpty craft and a Hey Diddle Diddle craft.

WEDNESDAY the class will begin with a maze to solve.  Our letter is “D”.  We will glue torn strips of paper onto a pumpkin picture. Our Science project will be the Bears’ hibernating.  We did not finish it last week.

THURSDAY we will begin by tracing lines.  The shape is CIRCLE to trace, drawn and find.  We will make a Hickory Dickory Dock craft and a Little Miss Muffet craft.  We will share our behavior book and our newspaper.

FRIDAY the students will begin by solving a Johnny Appleseed maze.  The letter is “E”.  Our torn paper will be glued onto a sheep picture.  The shape is CIRCLES.  We will make a Hickory Dickory Dock and a Little Miss Muffet craft.  Everyone will share their behavior book and their newspapers.

Upcoming themes are:

September 21 the theme is Over Our Heads and the color is BLUE.

September 28 the theme is Fall and the color is YELLOW.

October 5 the theme is Fire Safety and the color is RED. We will try to arrange a visit from the fire men in Adams.

Each day we will practice the Mother Goose Nursery Rhymes.  We also read books each day, sing songs, act out some finger plays, do some gross motor activities, and have play time.
