We are busy learning names and faces.  The Bear name tags help the teachers learn who is who.  There will be a name tag taped to each locker each day.  If you could remind your child to tape it to their top, it would help us.

Chocolate pudding was a great hit last week.  Only 2 children did not want to try it.  Everyone also had a cookie and lots of juice.

Book flyers were placed in lockers last week.  There are two ways to place an order.  One is online and the other is through our classroom.  Directions for the choices were stapled to the book flyers, if you need another, please ask me.

Any orders are due back by Friday, September 21^st.

This week our theme is OVER OUR HEADS and our color is BLUE.

TUESDAY the Bears will begin by tracing a giraffe.  Their letter is “C”.  Everyone will color and paint with blue.  We will make an umbrella picture.

WEDNESDAY the students will begin by finding the items that are the same size.  Our letter is “E”.  Everyone will tear strips and glue them onto a star fish picture.  Our Science Unit is Sink or Float—more water!!  They loved last week’s floating bears!

THURSDAY the children will begin by tracing and elephant.  Their letter is “D”.  The shape is CIRCLE to trace and find.  Everyone will make a kite; share their newspapers and their behavior book.

FRIDAY we will begin by finding the MATCHING sizes.  Our letter is “F”.  The shape is circle.  Everyone will tear strips and glue them onto a pumpkin picture.  We will make kites; share our newspapers and our behavior books.

This week we will also be working on PUZZLES.  Dumping them out is always fun, then we will work on putting them back together!

UPCOMING THEMES:

September 24 our theme is MOTHER GOOSE and our color is YELLOW.  We will make BUTTER for our snacks!

OCTOBER 1^st our theme is COMMUNITY WORKERS and our color is GREEN.  We will make GREEN EGGS AND HAM for our snack.  Each student will get to crack an egg!  What a fun time!  ON Thursday the 4^th and Friday the 5^th we will have SHOW AND TELL.  Each student may bring in something special from home.  The special item is left in their lockers until Show and Tell.  They will have a chance to bring their item to the front of the class and show and tell everyone about it.  The items are then returned to their lockers.  We do this activity the first Thursday and Friday of each month.
