The staff at Teddy Bear Corner would like to wish everyone a very HAPPY THANKSGIVING holiday. It does not seem possible that it is already holiday time. It goes by so quickly each year. Last week we learned about the first Thanksgiving, Mayflower ship, Plymouth Rock, and the Pilgrims and Native Americans. They loved acting out the stories. November book orders were sent this weekend. They should be back in 1-2 weeks. Fund Raiser candle products arrived last week and were packaged this weekend. The orders will be handed out to the adults this week. If you have any problems with any orders, please let me know. We did not have anything left over….we hope that is a good thing! Pictures are finished and will be handed out this week also. Instead of bringing in a snack item for December, we are asking each family to discuss being thankful for all that they have and maybe sending in a non-perishable food item for the local food pantry at the Rhode center. I will place a box by the lockers for the children to place their items. I think it is important for everyone to help others, especially during the holiday season. |
MONDAY the children will begin by tracing lines. They will cut on the lines. I have several Thanksgiving papers to color and solve. We will also make turkeys-one with our hands and one with a bag. TUESDAY the class will begin by finding the SAME items in each section. We will make three turkeys to bring home: one with coloring, one with our hands, and one with a bag. There is no school the rest of this week. Classes resume on Mon, Nov. 26. Our theme is PENGUINS. We will be learning about the Emperor Penguin. Our color is black. The month of December will be devoted to CHRISTMAS-making gifts, decorations, practicing for our programs, and learning about Christmas traditions. Our annual Christmas programs are planned for Tues, Dec 11th, and Wed, Dec 12th at 10am. The children will perform several songs and finger plays for their parents. Each child should bring in a gift to exchange-valued at $5.00. Please put your child’s name on the FROM part of the tag. I will fill in the TO part. If you have siblings who will be attending our party, it is ok to bring them a gift also. Please place their name on the tag and write SIBLING. Santa will visit and listen to each child’s wishes. He will then hand out all the exchanged gifts to each child. We will share refreshments after Santa’s visit. Sign up lists for snacks will be posted on the front table. |
Parenting Secrets: A child learns by trying things and making mistakes. Parents are teachers and they are the most important one your child will ever have! A child learns by seeing, feeling, hearing and doing. Learning experiences for a child are possible in every home and in every yard. It is important to say “What do you think?” when your child asks questions. It is not wise to give a child a task for which he is not ready. If a child misbehaves it is good to let him know I love him, but NOT the way he acts. Thank your child for his kind actions to you and others. It is important to explain why my child can or cannot do something. Thanks for your continued support. Cindy Reardon 232-2230 |
