PICTURES will be taken on Monday and Tuesday this week.  Extra forms are available from the teachers.

OCTOBER TUITON notes due were handed out last week. 

October book orders are due by Tuesday, October 20^th.  They will arrive in 2 weeks.

HALLOWEEN PARTIES will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 27^th and Wednesday, Oct. 28^th at 10 am.  Children should arrive at the regular class time.  They may come in costume.  At 10 we will parade down Spring Street-weather permitting.  The children will have special bags to Trick or Treat with.  Parents are invited to parade with us to help the children.  TREATERS are needed to place a treat in the children’s bags.  There is a sign up list for each class on the front table for snacks, juice, cups and napkins, and to be a TREATER.  After the parade everyone is welcomed back for to our class rooms for refreshments.

The Monday-Wednesday-Friday class would like to say THANK YOU to Amanda Muto (Anna’s mom) for visiting us last Wednesday.  She brought in bowls for the students to glaze.  They used the entire colors-pink, purple, blue, green, orange, etc.  She will fire the bowls this week and bring them back on Wednesday.  They worked so hard glazing.  What a wonderful craft for the Bears to do.

This week we begin our HALLOWEEN theme.  The color is ORANGE.  We will be making several Halloween decorations to bring home.

MONDAY the children will begin by coloring a spooky house picture.  The letter is “Q” to trace and write.  We will begin FRINGING with our scissors.  Everyone will receive a piece of paper and they will make small cuts along one edge to FRINGE the paper.  Then they will glue the fringed paper onto a lion picture for his mane.  Everyone will make a haunted house with windows and doors to open.  We will color with orange.

TUESDAY the class will begin by coloring a spooky house.  They will color with orange.  Everyone will make a ghost to float at home.  They will also make a pumpkin.

WEDNESDAY the students will be gin by finding the OPPOSITES in each row.  The letter is “R”.  We will FRINGE with our scissors.  Everyone will make a ghost and a pumpkin.  We will continue our SCIENCE unit with SKELETONS.

THURSDAY the Bears will begin by tracing the lines.  The shape is a TRIANGLE to find and trace.  Everyone will make a witch and a black cat.  We will share our newspapers and behavior book.

FRIDAY we will begin by finding the OPPOSITES.  The letter is “S”.  We will continue fringing with our scissors.  Everyone will find the triangles; make a witch and a black cat.  We will share our newspapers and our behavior book.

UPCOMING THEMES:

October 26 theme is Halloween and the color is black.

November 2 theme is APPLES and the color is red.  We will make applesauce for our snack.

November 9 the theme is Under our Feet.  There is No School on Wednesday, Nov 11^th.

November 16 our theme is Thanksgiving and our color is BLUE.  We will have our Thanksgiving feasts on Tues and Wed that week.

November 22 the Theme is Thanksgiving.  There is No School on 25-27 due to Thanksgiving holiday.
