THANK YOU to everyone for all the wonderful supplies that you sent in last week.  We really appreciate all your support.

This week our theme is OUR TOWN.  The color is PURPLE.  We will be learning about all the different jobs in our area.  If anyone would like to come in and talk about their job-just for a few minutes, we would love it. 

Book orders are due by Friday the 23rd-either on line or to the classroom.  The orders should be back in 1-2 weeks. I will place the orders in your child’s locker.

Notes for tuition for September will be placed in lockers this week.

MONDAY the children will begin by finding the BIGGEST item in each row.  The letter to trace and write is “F”.  We will begin using our scissors to SNIP strips of paper and glue them onto a dog paper.  We begin by learning the tearing motion with our fingers and now we are moving to actually SNIPPING with our scissors.  WE will color and paint with PURPLE.  Everyone will color a post card to mail to themselves-seeing how the post office works.  Our snack is purple grapes.  Our Circle topic is ME.

TUESDAY the Bears will begin by following the lines-learning to follow dotted lines helps develop fine motor skills.  Our color to paint and color is PURPLE.  We will color post cards and mail them to ourselves.  Everyone will have a cookie from the new bakery in Adams and learn about a baker’s job.

WEDNESDAY the class will begin by Matching the Sizes.  Our letter is “G”.  We will SNIP paper and glue the pieces onto a cat paper.  Our Science Unit will continue with our body by learning about our SPINES-back bones.  Everyone will make a back bone neck tie.  They loved their Brain Hats last week.  They took clay and made brains and then dropped heavy toys onto the clay.  Then they put cups over the clay to protect our brains like our skulls and helmets do, and discovered that the brain did not get injured.  They love hands-on experiments.

THURSDAY the students will begin by following the lines.  The shape is RECTANGLE.  We will make community workers; share our newspapers and our behavior books.

FRIDAY we will begin by finding the Same Sizes.  Our letter is “H.  We will snip and glue to a pig paper.  Our shape is RECTANGLES.  Everyone will make community workers, share their newspapers and behavior books.

Sept. 26 the theme is WATER and our color is BLUE.

Oct. 3 our theme is FALL and the color is YELLOW.

Oct 10 there is NO SCHOOL due to Columbus Holiday.

Oct. 11 theme is Columbus.

Oct 17 theme is FIRE SAFETY and the color is RED.

Oct .24 theme is HALLOWEEN and our color is BLACK.  Our Halloween parades are parties are planned for Tues and Wed the 25th and 26th.
