We hope everyone had a wonderful winter break.  There was a little snow almost every day, but the temps were a bit better.

February tuition due notes will be in lockers this week.

February book orders should arrive this week.

This week our theme is Our Presidents and our Special Event is a birthday party for George Washington, Abraham Lincoln and Barrack Obama. We will have cupcakes, treats, and games, but most of all we are learning about these famous men.   Each morning we ask who the president is, what are his children’s names, and what is his dog’s name.  They get it right every time!!

MONDAY the class will begin with a How Healthy are you paper.  Our number is “6” and our story is Six Foolish Fishermen.  The letter is “A”.  Our cutting project is cutting fish, counting them, and gluing them to each table.  Everyone will make a George Washington craft.

TUESDAY the Bears will begin with a How Healthy are you paper.  The number is “7” and the story is Seven Monkeys jumping on the bed.  Everyone will glue 7 monkeys onto a paper bed.  We will make a George Washington craft.   

WEDNESDAY the children will begin by finding the OPPOSITES.  Everyone will cut a presidents’ box.  The letter is “B”.  Our Science topic is Animal Homes.  Our sight words are “MY” and “CAN”.  We will have our birthday party.

THURSDAY the students will begin by finding the Healthy Foods.  The spatial concept this week is “OUT”.  They will find the animals that are “OUT” to circle.  Everyone will draw a picture of “ME then and now”.  We will make an Abraham Lincoln craft; share our newspapers, and our behavior book.

FRIDAY the class will begin by finding the Healthy Foods.  The letter is “C”. We will cut fish and glue them in their fish bowl.  Everyone will make a “ME-then and now” paper.  We will make an Abraham Lincoln craft; share our newspapers and our behavior book.

SHOW AND TELL is next Thursday and Friday!!

UPCOMING EVENTS:

March 1 the theme is Spring and our special event is a Picnic in the Snow-don’t tell the Bears, but the snow is really cotton balls and we will have a big snow ball fight after our picnic is finished.  Menu is bologna sandwiches, chips, pickles, lemonade, and a special dessert.

March 8 theme is Ice Cream and our Special Event is making and eating Ice Cream sundaes.  We will also make our leprechaun traps on Thurs and Fri-If any parent wants to help, just come about 11am to build the traps.

March 15 the theme is LEPRECHAUNS and we will see if our traps worked or not.  Each year Louie the Leprechaun manages to escape from our traps, but we usually find his hidden pot of gold!

March 21 the theme is EASTER and we will have our annual BEACH PARTY as our Special Event.  Children may wear their summer clothes and bring a beach towel.  We will visit TBC’s beach for a swim and maybe even go fishing.  The menu will be hot dogs, chips pickles, and soda.

March 29 the theme is EASTER and we will have our Easter parties on Tues and Wed.

WHEW!  What a busy month ahead!
