The Animal Parades were noisy and fun and filled with all kinds of furry critters.  Each one won a prize necklace and a certificate.  They loved marching around the rooms with their animals.

Notes for January tuition were handed out last week. 

Jan. book orders were ordered this weekend.  They should be back in 1-2 weeks.

Just a reminder (it’s snowing again!) if South Jeff is closed, so is TBC.  If South Jeff is delayed two hours, TBC is closed.

This week our theme is BED TIME and our Special Event is a Slumber Party.  Students may come to school in their pajamas and bring a blanket or a sleeping bag.  We will do all our work and then climb in our beddings and discuss bed time, night time, sleeping, and why we have to go to bed every night.  We will listen to stories in our beds and even watch a movie there.

TUESDAY the students will begin with a Things that GO paper to solve.  The number is “4” to count and trace and write.  Everyone will make a moon.  We will have a slumber party.

WEDNESDAY the children will begin with a Reading Readiness paper to solve.  The letter is “G”.  We will do a Math paper.  Everyone will cut and count. 

Our Science topic is Day and Night Animals.  We will have a slumber party.

THURSDAY the class will begin by finding all the food items.  The shape review is a SQUARE.  Our spatial concept is BETWEEN.  Everyone will make a night time picture with black paper and chalk.  WE will share our newspaper and our behavior book.

FRIDAY the children will begin with a Reading Readiness paper.  The letter is “H”.  Everyone will have a math paper to solve.  We will cut squares and glue them where they belong.  Everyone will make a chalk night time drawing.  We will share our newspaper and our behavior book.

We are learning some circle games-Farmer in the dell, Mulberry bush, Ring around the roses.  They love them.  We are also adding an exercise tape each day.  They need to use up their extra energy in the winter.

Upcoming events:

January 28 the theme is Good Food and we will make pancakes on Tues and Wed.

February 4 the theme is Valentines and our Special Event is a Beach Party on Tues and Wed.  Everyone may come to school in their summer clothes and bring a towel for the beach.

February 11 theme is Valentines and our annual Valentine parties will be held on Wed the 13^th and Thurs the 14^th.  Class lists will be handed out this week.  Sign up lists for snacks for the parties are posted on the front table.

Feb 18-22 is the Winter break at South Jeff.  There will be no school this week.

Feb 25 the theme is Presidents and we will hold our annual Birthday parties for our presidents on Tues and Wed.

SHOW AND TELL FOR FEB will be held on Thurs and Fri the 7^th and 8^th.
