Our weather is staying very mild for this time of the year.  I hope it continues through our Field Trip on Wednesday.

A very special THANK YOU to the VFW Post in Adams.  Pat and Janet stopped by last week to listen to the classes recited the Pledge of Allegiance.  They were very impressed.  Each child received a certificate from them. They also left color sheets for each child.  The community support we have is wonderful!!  They presented TBC with our large flag last year.

We also wanted to THANK the Adams Fire Department-Brian, Bob, Steven and Pat.  They let the children climb inside their fire engine and walk around the outside-seeing where the ladders and hoses are stored.  They came inside and showed the children how the firemen put on their fire fighting gear….so they would not be afraid of him.  We learned about fire safety, not hiding when there is a fire, not taking any toys with you when you are exiting during a fire, and STOP DROP AND ROLL.  Each child received a fire hat and a bag of goodies from the firemen.  We really appreciate them taking the time to help our Bears learn about fire safety. 

October book orders were ordered last weekend.

FIELD TRIP information is due back on Monday.

Halloween party information is posted on the front table.

Parties are planned for Tuesday, Oct. 30^th and Wednesday, Oct 31^st.  We will parade at 10am.  Treaters may treat the children either on the way to the Journal or on the way back. Refreshments and a movie will follow.

This week our theme is HALLOWEEN and the color is ORANGE.

MONDAY the class will begin by finding the SAME items in each row.  Our Cutting Unit moves from SNIPPING to FRINGING-making lots of small cuts in a wide piece of paper….and not having any pieces fall off.  The fringed paper will be a lion’s mane. The letter is “S”.  We will color and paint with orange.  Everyone will make a couple of ghosts to bring home.

TUESDAY the children will begin with a Before I Write paper.  They are practicing drawing lines between two other lines.  The color orange will be colored and painted.  We will make two different ghosts to share at home.

WEDNESDAY the students will begin by finding the Same items.  The class will leave on their annual field trip to Backyard Farmer (formerly Behlings) at 9:30.  We will return to TBC by 11:30am.

Thursday the children will begin with a Before I Write paper.  The shape is DIAMOND to trace and find.  Everyone will make a WITCH to bring home.  WE will share our newspapers and our behavior books.

FRIDAY the class will begin by finding the same items.  The letter is “T”.  We will fringe paper to glue onto a peacock. The shape is diamond.  We will make a witch; share our newspapers and our behavior book.

Thanks to Joshua Maguire for the decorated cookies on Friday.  I heard they were delicious!  Thanks to Hannah Hopkins for the delicious cookies she shared with her class on Tuesday-They were delicious!

Last Wednesday we had several children singing songs:

Sadie sang the Princess song from her sister, Colby sang Take Me Home Tonight (his dad taught it to him), Johnathan sang 1-2-3 like a bird-heard it on the radio, Kanyon sang 1-2-3 rock and roll-from a friend, Joshua sang a Red Neck Guy from his Dad, Taylor sang Itsey Bitsey Spider, Kyla-sang Twinkle Twinkle, Alexis-sang Twinkle Twinkle, and Brie sang Happy Birthday to my cat Marble.  Great Singers!
