HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO EVERYONE.  TRAVEL SAFELY AND STAY WELL.

The Bears worked hard mixing potatoes, corn, and cranberry sauce last week.  They had turkey, rolls, milk, and ice cream for desert.  Almost everyone ate very well.  Several came back for third helpings!  Even the teachers ate with their classes.

This week our theme is THANKSGIVING.

THERE IS NO SCHOOL on Wed., Nov. 25th, Thurs., Nov 26th, and Fri, Nov. 27th this week.  Classes resume on Monday, November 30th.

Notes for November tuition were handed out last week.

The month of December is always very busy.  November 30th theme is WINTER and SHOW AND TELL is Thursday, Dec. 3rd and Friday, Dec. 4th.  Our annual Christmas programs and parties will be held on Mon., Dec 7th and Tues., Dec 8th at 10 in our class rooms.  The children are practicing songs and finger plays to show their parents.  Santa has been invited to attend and should arrive each day about 10:15.  He will have each child sit on his lap (if they wish) and tell him what they would like for Christmas.  He loves to have pictures taken.  After he has spoken to each student, he will invite siblings to join him, also.  Each student needs to bring in a wrapped gift-valued at $5.00 to exchange with another student.  Boys may bring boy gifts.  Girls may bring a girl gift.  Please write FROM and your child’s name.  The teachers will fill in the TO part.  If you have a younger child and would like to bring them a small gift, write SIBLING and the child’s name on the tag and Santa will give the gift to them.  After Santa leaves, Refreshments will be served. Snack lists for the parties are posted on the front table.  Any questions, please call me.

December 14th-the theme is Christmas and we will make decorations and gifts to share.

Monday, December 21st we will have a LONG DAY for the Mon-Wed-Fri class.  The children will stay until 1 pm and lunch of pizza will be served.  Parents will have a bit longer to get ready for the holidays and the Bears will have time to finish their projects.

Tuesday, December 22nd is a regular class.

There is No School Wed., Dec. 23rd.  Classes will resume on Monday, January 4th, 2010.

MONDAY the children will begin by coloring a thankful picture.  The letter is “C”.  We will make a paper Thanksgiving dinner picture.  There will be several turkey crafts to make and bring home.

TUESDAY the Bears will begin by coloring a thankful picture.  They will make a stand up turkey, a turkey with many feathers and a special turkey box.

SECRETS EVERY PARENT SHOULD KNOW by RUTH BOWDOIN.  She has some wonderful ideas about raising children.  I thought I would share a few.

A child’s brain develops most rapidly from birth to age 4 years.

50% of a child’s intelligence is acquired by age 4, 80% by age 8.

By age 5 your child’s personality, self concept, emotional development and character will be almost complete.

My child is an individual and I do not compare him with others.

To help make him more comfortable I need to introduce my child to new things, people, and situations.

A wise parent will help a child do more and more himself.

Children need love…but this does not mean doing as he pleases.

Too much pressure can result in harm to my child.

It is not good to call my child a “cry baby”.

My child needs repetition in order to learn.

Thanks for your continued support. .Cindy Reardon 232-2230
