The children loved Mother Goose.  We practiced all of her Nursery Rhymes. 

Book orders were sent last week.

Please remember to let us know if anything changes-address, telephone, cell phone numbers, babysitters, dismissal list,  We like to keep our records up to date-in case of an emergency.

This week our theme is FALL and our color is GREEN.  Our snack will be Green-Jell-O, grapes and ants on a log (celery, peanut butter and raisins).

MONDAY the children will begin by tracing lines–this helps to develop their hand eye coordination and fine motor skills.  The letter is “I” to trace and write.  This week our Cutting Unit advances to SNIPPING.  The students will use scissors to snip strips of paper into small pieces.  The small pieces will be glued onto a dog picture.  Everyone will learn the Scissor Safety Rules of handling scissors and what we cut and WHAT WE DO NOT CUT!!  We will color and paint with GREEN.  Everyone will make a Fall Tree with crepe paper.

TUESDAY the students will begin with a Manners paper about waiting your turn.  We will color and paint with GREEN. Everyone will make a Fall Tree with crepe paper to bring home. In this class we are working on LISTENING, FOLLOWING DIRECTIONS, PLAYING FAIRLY, SHARING, AND USING THE BATHROOMS FOR POTTY BREAKS.

WEDNESDAY the class will begin by tracing the lines.  The letter is “J”.  We will SNIP paper and glue the pieces onto a cat paper.  Our SCIENCE unit begins our Body Parts.  We will begin with Our Brains.  Everyone will make a Brain Hat to wear.  Everyone will learn that our Brains are 80% water, why we have brains, and how they work.

THURSDAY the children will begin with a manners paper learning to say THANK YOU.  We practice Thank you at snack time as they receive their cups, napkins, and snacks.  Everyone will trace, draw and find a TRIANGLE shape.  Our fall craft is a Fall Box to bring home.  We will share our Let’s Find Out newspapers and our behavior books.

FRIDAY the class will begin by tracing lines.  The letter is “K”.  We will snip paper and glue the pieces onto a pig paper.  Our shape to trace, draw, and find is TRIANGLE.  We will make a Fall box to share.  Everyone will read their newspapers and behavior books.

We have been doing lots of fun activities after our work is finished: play doh-making balls, logs, snakes, and pancakes, sewing cards with long shoe laces, playing with our special toys-horses, jungle safari, making shapes in shaving cream piles on the tables, chalk, bubbles, collecting leaves and pine cones during a walk,  singing in front of the classes, using small chalk boards to practice our shapes and letters, etc., etc.

Don’t forget SHOW AND TELL is next THURS and FRI, OCT 4^th and 5^th.  Children may bring a special item from home to share at Show and Tell time.  We usually have this activity about 11am.  Each child gets their item from their locker and shows it to the rest of the class and tells them about it.  We will have a list of items shared in our newsletters.  Please label anything your child brings to TBC.  Items may be left in your lockers or on the teachers’ front table.

THANKS to Kanyon Hoek for the pumpkin on our table.  Everyone loves it.  HAPPY BIRTHDAY to RYLIE WILSON and thanks for the cupcakes. I heard they were delicious!  Special congratulations to Skyler and Kirsten for receiving a new BABY BROTHER!  Everyone is doing very well according to Gramma!
