January 25-29, 2010

Thanks so much for all the wonderful veggies you sent for our Stone Soup.  The children chopped and stirred.  Some of them loved the Stone Soup, some did not.  The teachers said it was the best stone soup we have ever made!

Show and Tell will be held next Thursday and Friday=the first of each month.  Children may bring in something special from home to Show and Tell the class.

January book orders should be here next week.

Our Special Event this week is a Slumber Party.  The children may come to school in the pajamas and bring a sleeping bag or a blanket.  We will play musical sleeping bags and stuffed animal toss.  Everyone will learn about sleeping at night, why we have to sleep, and sleeping in your own bed.

MONDAY the class will begin with a 1-5 dot-to-dot paper.  The number is “3” and the story is the Three Little Pigs.   Our letter is “R”.  We will cut bricks to build the pig’s house.  Everyone will make a night time picture.

TUESDAY the Bears will begin by finding the item that is DIFFERENT.  They did a great job on SAME, but the DIFFERENT paper last week was confusing to some.  The number is “4” and the story is the four seasons.  Everyone will make a bedtime picture.

WEDNESDAY the children will begin with a 1-5 dot-to-dot paper.  The letter is “S”.  Our Science topic is the night time sky-stars and moon. We will cut windows and doors for a house.

THURSDAY the students will begin by finding the DIFFERENT item in each group. They will learn about the things their hands and their feet can do.  We will share our newspapers and our behavior book.  Everyone will make a special craft.

FRIDAY the class will begin with a dot-to-dot 1-5 paper to solve.  The letter is “T”.  We will learn about our hands and feet.  Everyone will cut a heart shape.  Everyone will share their newspapers and behavior books.
