The children loved holding ice cubes in their hands last week during Science class. The ice turned into water and they were amazed! This week our theme is FALL and our color is YELLOW. We will make butter to spread on our crackers. We will pour heavy cream into several jars, place the tops on very securely, and let the children sit on the floor and shake the jars to music. It only takes a few minutes and the cream turns into butter. When you open the jars, pour off the white liquid and add just a shake of salt for flavor. The children love to spread their butter on crackers. SHOW AND TELL is Thursday and Friday this week. Students may bring in a favorite item from home to Show and Tell the class. Please label each item and leave in their locker until we begin our Show and Tell unit. PICTURES will be taken again this year by Deb Swiecki of Adams. Deb comes in every year and takes photos of our classes and will take individual photos if you wish. There will be a form in your child’s locker this week with the information and prices on it. Siblings may also come in for their pictures. If you have any questions, her number will be on the form. Checks are made payable to “Framing Moments”. |
MONDAY the class will begin by finding the SAME items. The letter is “I” to trace and print. Everyone will color with yellow. We will begin SNIPPING with scissors this week. Each child will have a strip of colored paper that they will snip with scissors into little pieces. The pieces will be glued onto a dog picture. Everyone will make a fall tree with crepe paper. They will also make a paper corn by dabbing yellow paint. Everyone will make butter. TUESDAY the children will begin by tracing the lines-up and down. We will color with yellow. Everyone will paint yellow corn by dabbing with their finger. We will make a fall tree. Everyone will make butter. WEDNESDAY the students will begin by finding the SAME items in each row. The letter is “J”. We will SNIP papers with scissors and glue them onto a cat picture. Our Science project is leaf rubbings. THURSDAY the Bears will begin by tracing the lines-slanted ones. The shape is RECTANGLES to find and trace. Everyone will make an Autumn box. They will also make an autumn picture with markers. Everyone will share their newspapers and behavior book. We will have SHOW AND TELL! FRIDAY the students will begin by finding the SAME items in each row. The letter is “K”. They will SNIP with scissors and glue onto a pig picture. The shape is rectangles. Everyone will make an Autumn box and an Autumn picture. We will share our newspapers and behavior book. We will have SHOW AND TELL! |
October 5 theme is FIRE SAFETY and hopefully, we will have the Adams Fire Department visit that week. The color is RED. Monday, October 12 and Tuesday, October 13 there is NO SCHOOL due to COLUMBUS DAY holiday. Our theme for the rest of that week is Christopher Columbus and the color is purple. October 19 the theme is HALLOWEEN and the color is orange. October 26 the theme is HALLOWEEN and the color is BLACK. Our Halloween parties are planned for Tuesday the 27th and Wednesday the 28th.
