A very special THANK YOU to all the parents, grandparents, siblings and teachers who helped with our field trip last week.  It was a bit chilly but the sun came out and we all became warmer. We had a wagon ride around the pond behind Backyard Farmer, played on the spider slide and swings, and had a snack of pop corn, cider, and cookies.  Each Bear picked a pumpkin to bring home, too.

This week we will have our annual Halloween parades and parties on Tuesday, Oct. 30^th and Wednesday, Oct. 31^st.  Students should arrive at our regular class time in costume.  Parents and adults will meet us at the door at 10am to begin to parade.  Treaters can find a spot to treat the bears on their way down town or on their way back to school.  After our parade everyone is invited back to our classrooms for snacks and a Halloween movie.  THANKS to all who signed up for treats on our lists.

SHOW AND TELL will be held this THURSDAY and FRIDAY!

For the month of November we need copier paper, construction paper, paper towels, paper cups, juices, crackers, snack items, carrot sticks, dip, etc., etc.  THANKS!

Class and individual pictures will be taken next week Mon., Nov 5^th and Tues, Nov 6^th during our class time.  Information sheets will be handed out this week.  We are trying a new photographer-Diana Reardon.  We have tried several different places over the years, but the prices were getting so unreasonable.  Diana has offered some very affordable packages.

MONDAY the children will begin by helping a ghost find the right path to his party.  We will color with BLACK.  Everyone will FRINGE a porcupine’s fur with their scissors.  Our letter is “U”.  Everyone will make a pumpkin- jack-o-lantern and a black cat.

TUESDAY the students will begin by coloring a bear raking leaves.  They will color with black.  We will make a jack-o-lantern and a black cat.  Everyone will parade and party!

WEDNESDAY the class will begin by coloring a haunted house.  They will find the hidden bones.  We will have our parade and party.

THURSDAY the children will begin by coloring a bunny raking leaves.  Our shape to find and trace is CIRCLE.  They will color a haunted house.  We will discuss Johnny Appleseed.  Everyone will make an apple tree by finger-painting. We will have SHOW AND TELL.

FRIDAY the students will begin by coloring a ghost and a cat.  The shape is CIRCLE.  The letter is “V”.  We will fringe fur for a monster.  Everyone will finger-paint an apple tree and a Johnny Appleseed story card.  WE will have SHOW AND TELL.

November 5 theme is UNDER THE SEA and the color is blue.  We will hold elections for our favorite food, drink, and song.

There is NO SCHOOL on Fri, Nov. 9^th and Mon., Nov. 12^th due to Veteran’s Day holiday.

Nov 13 the theme will be THANKSGIVING and our color is brown.  We will hold our feast on Tues and Wed. that week.

Nov. 19 the theme is Thanksgiving.  There is no school on Wed, the 21^st, Thurs, the 22^nd or Fri, the 23^rd due to Thanksgiving holiday.

Nov 26 our theme is penguins and the color is black.
