THANK YOU to the Adams Fire Department.  Bob Simpson, Zachary Cobb, and AJ Mullin visited the Bears on Tuesday and Wednesday last week.  Zachary demonstrated all the equipment and safety gear that a fireman wears.  Bob explained why they wear the type of gear as Zachary put it on.  AJ helped the Bears climb into and out of the fire engines each day.  The firemen even left the children hats, fire trucks to make, stickers and lollipops.  THANKS so much for taking your time to talk to the Bears about Fire Safety!

We also would like to say THANK YOU to Margo Canzonier ‘s family for donating pumpkins for each Bear.  They own and operate North Branch farms in Belleville.  I bought some of their squash and it was delicious!  THANKS again!

SHOW AND TELL will be this THURSDAY AND FRIDAY!!!

This week our theme is HALLOWEEN and our color is BLACK.  We are planning our Halloween parades and parties for Tuesday and Wednesday-weather permitting.  According to the weather we will probably parade in our classrooms this year!

TUESDAY the Bears will begin with a pumpkin paper to solve.  They will color with black.  Our letter is “O”.  Everyone will make a pumpkin and a spider web.

WEDNESDAY the children will begin with a pumpkin paper.  Their letter is “V”.  Everyone will cut and glue pumpkins.  Our Science Unit is our HANDS.  We will make a paper hand.  The Bears have been working on sight words on Wednesdays.  Our words so far are: I, SEE, RIDE, ON.  This week we will add PLAY and WITH.  They love to take home their sight word booklets to “read” them at home.

THURSDAY the students will begin by finding the same leaves.  Our letter is “P” and our shape is OVAL to trace and find.  We will share our newspapers and our behavior books.  Everyone will make a Halloween craft.

FRIDAY we will begin by finding the same leaves in each row.  Everyone will cut a FALL picture.  Our letter is “W” and our shape is OVAL.  We will share our newspapers and our behavior books. 

DON’T FORGET SHOW AND TELL ON THURSDAY AND FRIDAY!!

We are beginning a fund raiser this week.  There will be a flyer in each student’s locker.  There is also a display of the products by the lockers.  Orders should be turned in by the 8^th of November.  Products will be delivered the end of November.

NOVEMBER’s schedule:

November 5 theme is FALL and color is Blue.

November 9^th and 12^th there is NO SCHOOL due to Veteran’s holiday.

November 13 the   theme is THANKSGIVING.  We will have our annual Thanksgiving Feast   on Tuesday and Wednesday-complete with turkey, mashed potatoes, corn, rolls, cranberry sauce, carrot and celery sticks, and a special desert.

November 19 and 20 our theme of Thanksgiving will continue.  There is NO SCHOOL on the 21^st, 22^nd, and 23^rd because of Thanksgiving vacation.

November 26^th our theme is Under our Feet and our color is Yellow.

Our supplies needed for November are copier paper, hand wipes, juice, crackers, cereal, paper towels, paper cups, etc.
